About Society
'Society for the Development & Beautification of the Sonepat Town - SDBST' is purely a Social Service Organization -
non political and non religious. It's main purpose is to take proper and adequate steps to highlight and maintain
the historic importance of Sonepat town.
Society has been primarily set up to restore Sonepat town to its pristine glory. Historical Sonepat that is the one of the
five villages which the KAURVA gad denied to give a single piece of land to the PANDVA had demand to them and its a reason of
battle in MAHABHARATA.
Aims and Objectives of Society
- To take steps to renovate the Tomb of Sayyed Khijjar Khan and Martyr Hero of the war against the
Mungolian attak in Delhi. Who laid down his life for the country in 1424.

To take projects to explore, excavate and devise other means to enlist all relies of the past -
buildings, temples, mosques, palaces and Tomb, etc. of the rulers of Sonepat principality and of the people
living the town for the last many generations.
- To renovate old historic buildings and put these to use for public benefit.
- To take up Research Projects to collect relevant historic data about the life of Sayyed Khijjar Khan
and his fore-fathers and about the social-cultural life of people of this ancient principality.
- To Construct multipurpose complex at a suitable site including a fully developed park and water body,
a Noka Vihar, a Shopping Complex, a Cafeteria Canteen and also a Museum for entertaining the visitors.
- To take up other suitable projects or activities for the beautification and development of Sonepat,
not covered in the above mentioned objectives.
